On October 16, 2009, the 7th China CSR Journalists Forum, hosted jointly by the Sino-German Corporate Social Responsibility Project and the China WTO Tribune, took place at the Oriental Bay International Hotel in Beijing, under the theme of ‘Social Responsibility and Gender Issues’.
Participants at the meeting were experts from industry associations and international projects as well as corporate representatives such as the Country Program Manager of UNIFEM in China, Julia Broussard, the Chief Researcher of CSR Promotion Office of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, Liang Xiaohui, Vice President of the Corporate Communications and Marketing Division of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co (China), Liang Lihua, the Human Resources Director of Novartis China, Hong Chaoyang, and the Public Relations Department Head of Omron Ltd., Jia Wei.
In addition, almost thirty reporters from China Business, Journal of the CPPCC, China Women’s News, China Business Times, China Times, Global Charity and ifeng.com attended the meeting.
Editor-in-Chief of the China WTO Tribune, Yu Zhihong, stated that the media is an important stakeholder in the course of development of CSR and the atmosphere that the media creates and the driving force of the media will make a significant contribution to the development of CSR. He indicated that this was the main reason why the sponsor held this CSR journalists’ forum.
